So I've gathered by reading a few posts and talking to some folks. How big was the last graduating class? Do I understand correctly that BA, BT and Garmisch stayed open a little longer? Were did the dependent kids go to school when MAHS closed down?

To my knowledge they closed the base down and the other kids went to the international school-I could be wrong though. My sister who graduated in 1990 still lives in Munich she married a German guy there and they have a couple of kids. That's what she told me-but who knows....

Sorry to get in on this so late, but I was stationed in BA from March 97 to February 99. BA had it's own DOD school right there on post, K-12. Just a few students per grade. BA closed down in SEP 04. BT closed down in 94 from what I'm told, but don't have any facts on that. Garmish is still open. The Marshall Center and Artillery Kaserne are still there. I was in Garmisch at the Foreign Language Training Center in both '01 and '02. The Patton and Von Steuben Hotels, along with the old Commissary and PX in Garmisch were turned over to the Germans. A new AFRC hotel was built on the Marshall Center to replace them. It opened last year. A new PX and Commissary were opened on Artillery Kaserne.

Can anyone on the board verify this 1992 date? I've found a website that cites 1993 as the last year and I'd never heard that before.

How about it? Anyone know for sure?

Better yet, anyone attend that last year?
