Friends:

I spoke to Billy Shouse tonight. He lives in Beaumont, Tx., 80 miles from Galveston, Tx. He and his family rode out the hurricane at their home. Due to the power and internet outages, he will be off-line for a little while and has asked for everyone's prayers for his family and the others affected by the storm.

He wanted me to tell everyone that the reunion is still on and that the phonebook is still on schedule.

He was as prepared as could be expected for the storm and appears to have plenty of food and water for now. When I asked him what I could do for him, he responded, "Call me every hour or so and tell me the Cowboys/Eagles score." Now that's a true Texan.

Later...

Dwayne, '82

Thanx for the update Dwayne!!!

I'm glad to hear that they're all OK.

I hope you were able to stay up and give him the final score of the game. :D

Jon:

I am an old Cowboy's fan that doesn't watch much aymore. But I have to say that the game very exciting and fun to stay up for. I think I heard Billy holler when he got the final score. I tell you, for someone in such a destroyed area, he was in good spirits. He sort of reminds me of the Hank Williams Jr. song, "A Country Boy Can Survive."

He appreciates your thoughts and will fill everyone in once he gets back on-line.

Dwayne

(repeat)

Hey everyone. BACK
Ike just thought he whipped us. Now to what Tony said , In a Tornado Has lots of heavy winds with little or no water behind it. Now in a huricane you have wind , rain and then the surge.. Now with Ike it started to hit us about a day before it came ashore. Or sea walls held alot of the water back but when you have 17 ft sea walls and the surge is 25 - 40 ft well the wall loses.
I have been in a tornado in Little Rock .Ark, and huricane here in Beaumont ,Tx. To me when ever you here either one of them coming RUN FOR THE HILLS. We are starting to put the things back togather now.
But its a long drawn out process.

I guess I am one of the lucky ones, Had roof damage little flooding and a tree went through my shed. But a friend of mine lost everything. Sister lost her house. But we are still here and kicking so I guess we are alright.

But anyway now on to a brighter thought FALL IS HERE and huricane season is almost over... HIP HIP ARAY....

LOVE TO ALL and good night.
Running on a generator so gotta go . Bye for now BILLY

Remember the phone book still in progress....so let everyone know.
