From Ralph Smith

Here's a photo of Mark Adams and me (Ralph Smith) on a training exercise, October 07, 2005. For those who didn't know, Mark and I are both platoon sergeants in F Company here at the Presidio of Monterey. How's that for a bizarre coincidence?

Doesn't look like an EM50, though. ;)

Ralph,

Maybe it's just me...but before I poked fun at the guys in that pic, I'd want to make sure I had a bigger gun...and I don't!! :)

Tony... fortunately, I backspaced over the remark I WAS going to make about my gun.

Foremostly, however, my jocularity was not a dig on the lads. Ralph is one of my oldest and dearest friends, and I respect 100% what he does and what he has done, along with all of his brethren and, er, sistren. He knows that (or I sure hope he does... he can call in artillery on my position!).

It was just a chance to throw in a Stripes reference... always in order.

Boom-chugga-lugga-lugga...!

Rob,

All in jest...I'm starting to know the characters on this board...and the digs are what keep me coming back!

Dave,

Good to see you pop up now and again! I trust Wilma spared y'all up in Tampa? I hope that's the case, we're getting some 60 mph gusts and a few inches of rain that are remnants up here, but nothing like the Keys and south Florida saw. Keep those jabs and comments coming, the board's moving at a glacial pace!

Anybody out there...hello...hello?

Tony

All jocularity received as sent. I thought my use of the apostrophe in the word "makin'" properly conveyed my playful tone. Was it too nuanced?

Sparky must be tattooed on my forehead in invisible ink that only others can see. One of the Platoon Sergeants Ralph and I used to work with called me Sparky also. Hmmm.....

Dave, I got my "wings" when I was a Quickfix Instructor at Ft. Huachuca in '96. I flew as a crewmember on an EH-60.
